After the number of COVID-19 cases in Wisconsin more than doubled in one day, Gov. Tony Evers and state health officials on March 17 announced a ban on gatherings of more than 10 people, as well as ordering the closure of indoor eating at bars and restaurants effective at 5 p.m. today. This follows a previous announcement just days earlier by the governor’s office banning gatherings of more than 50 people in an attempt to curb the spread of COVID-19 across Wisconsin.

The ban would not apply to “critical infrastructure” including grocery stores, food pantries, childcare centers, pharmacies, hospitals, and airports.
