The Goodman Community Center announced the start of its annual Thanksgiving Basket Drive, and already hundreds of registrations have been received. This will be the 36th year that the center has provided the ingredients for families to make full Thanksgiving meals at home, and once again the organization has set a goal of 4,000 baskets distributed this year.
With the need for baskets at an all-time high, Goodman Community Center is appealing to the public to help collect the food and money needed to fill all 4,000 baskets. The center collects the ingredients needed for each basket through individual contributions, donations by local organizations, and food drives.
Community members who would like to help can make financial donations online, donate food at the center, or host a food drive. Find more information here.
Registration for a basket opened to Dane County residents starting Monday, Oct. 21, and will remain open until filled.
Most volunteer spots are already filled; register to be added to the waiting list here.
