The Goodman Community Center kicked off an International Women’s Day fundraiser this week benefitting Girls Inc. of Greater Madison, according to a release from the organization. The Goodman Center plans to raise $50,000 to fund the Girls Inc. program for 2021 as well as provide 500 girls in the Madison area with care kits filled with self-care items procured from local businesses. Girls Inc. is a national program using a research-based curriculum to encourage girls to be “strong, smart, and bold.” The Greater Madison chapter is housed at the Goodman Center and operates out of community centers and schools throughout the Madison area.
