The latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which revises July 2018 preliminary estimates and looks at preliminary estimates for August, show Wisconsin’s private sector gaining a statistically significant 36,300 jobs between August 2017 and August 2018.
During the same period, the state also added 22,500 manufacturing jobs. Wisconsin’s unemployment rate remained at 3% or less for the seventh month in a row. The number of Wisconsin manufacturing jobs in August reached its highest level since September 2008.
