The civil case against the City of Madison brought by four city golf pros that were fired from their jobs in 2012 has ended.
The golf pros, Tom Benson (Odana Hills), Mark Rechlicz (Yahara Hills), Rob Muranyi (Monona), and Bill Scheer (Glenway) sought $2.3 million in lost income, saying they were wrongly terminated and that city officials, including the mayor and City Council, were lied to by Kevin Briski, the former superintendent of the Madison Parks Division, according to a Wisconsin State Journal story.
Briski resigned and moved to Florida in 2014. A 12-person jury agreed the pros were fired without good cause, but awarded a total of $287,400, just a fraction of what they were seeking.
