The four former golf pros let go by the City of Madison in 2012 have refiled their lawsuit against the city. Thomas Benson (Odana Hills Golf Course), Robert Muranyi (Monona Golf Course), Williams Scheer (Glenway Golf Course), and Mark Rechlicz (Yahara Hills Golf Course) were longtime independent contractors operating Madison’s four municipal golf courses before the city decided not to renew their contracts. They filed a lawsuit in June 2013 but withdrew it because they had not filed a proper notice of claim with the city. Proper notice was filed on July 24, but the city never responded, so the claim was considered denied in November.

The claim filed with the city totaled $1.33 million between the four men. They allege the city violated the Wisconsin Fair Dealership Law by not giving them proper notice that their contracts were not being renewed.
