Golden Guernsey Dairy’s Waukesha facility suddenly shut its doors on Saturday, leaving at least 100 people out of work. According to a report from TheBusiness Journal in Milwaukee, the Wisconsin Dept. of Workforce Development was not notified in advance of the decision.
Several employees have filed complaints with the state over the way the plant was closed. OpenGate Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm and Golden Guernsey’s parent company, reportedly ordered the plant’s immediate shutdown through an email sent to the plant manager.
