A new Generac manufacturing plant in Sussex will employ more than 100 factory workers.
Generac, which manufactures energy technology solutions and other power products, said in a statement that the new facility “will enable the company to expand its manufacturing footprint for its commercial & industrial (C&I) products, which have delivered strong year-over-year growth in recent quarters.”
Generac credits the demand for data centers as a major reason for its facility expansion. The Waukesha company expects to offer backup power solutions via large-megawatt generators for data centers.
Generac bought its new facility from Quad/Graphics for $20 million, according to Wisconsin Public Radio. It is expected to open in late 2026.
