The U.S. Labor Department is investigating Google Inc. and is finding evidence of gender bias when it comes to wages, according to a story in the Wall Street Journal. Google vehemently denies the claims.

No formal charges have been filed, but the Labor Department, which has been probing into the Silicon Valley company because it is a federal contractor, reportedly found cases of gender bias “across the entire workforce,” with men being paid more than women.

The department is suing Google to obtain more compensation data. It also sued Oracle earlier this year on similar suspicions.
