The 2024 gBETA Urban League cohort will host the first-ever gBETA Valentine’s Day Pop-Up Event in the Black Business Hub at 2352 S. Park St. on Thursday, Feb. 8. The event will support Black-owned businesses and take place from 1–4 p.m.
Five Madison-based companies were selected for the second gBETA Urban League cohort. gBETA Urban League is a free, seven-week accelerator program that sets a path for startups to pursue growth and investment opportunities. Startup founders receive intensive concierge coaching and access to gener8tor’s national network of mentors, customers, corporate partners, and investors.
The Madison companies selected for the cohort include:
- Military Dogs LLC, which serves hot dogs and hot snacks with a military theme to honor active duty servicemembers, military veterans, and their families;
- Oceans Laugh, which creates bath kits and foot-soaking jars for self-care;
- Shea Strategy, which offers a la carte marketing and communications support for businesses and faith-based nonprofits;
- Ms. Goodwan’s Goodies, a family-based home baking business; and
- Fuller’s Painting & Restoration, which serves commercial and residential property owners.
