As peace talks falter between the U.S. and Iran, gasoline prices are finding a new surge as they rose on Tuesday to their highest level in four years, the New York Times reported.
The average cost for a gallon of regular gasoline is $4.18, according to the AAA motor club. The last time it was that high was in April 2022 after Russia invaded Ukraine.
The 1.6% was the highest percentage increase in more than a month.
Meanwhile, oil prices hovering at over 40% higher than they were before the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran in late February.
