Gas is above $4 per gallon just in time for Memorial Day weekend.
According to AAA, the average cost of gas across the nation was $4.56 on Thursday. That is 43% higher than at the same time last year, and up 13% from a month ago.
In one of the highest cost areas in the country, California is over $6 per gallon, Yahoo Finance reported.
Gas prices have soared and oil prices have fluctuated greatly since the Iran war began at the end of February.
