Five of six members of the Garver Feed Mill Criteria and Selection Committee voted to approve a $19.8 million plan from Baum Development to transform the Garver Feed Mill property on Atwood Avenue into an artisan food production facility. Four plans were considered, with a $39.8 million senior housing option from Alternative Continuum of Care selected as a backup plan.
According to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal, the proposed Baum concept focuses on food production but may also include small rooms for short-term lodging. The committee’s recommendation now moves on to the City Council.
