Madison’s first women-centered sports bar, Bernell’s, is set to open soon in the former Red Rooster space at 2513 Seiferth Road, WKOW reports.
Owner Rita Adair, who is naming the business after her late wife, Bernell Hooker, is raising $420,000 on her own to cover operating costs and licenses. Previously, her financial backer left the project.
Community members can donate toward Adair’s goal of $20,000 by October through CashApp ($3Adair) or Zelle (Rita Adair), or contact Adair via email with questions.
