The Madison-based nonprofit Freedom From Religion Foundation has announced plans to expand its current headquarters in downtown. As part of the plan, the foundation will raze an apartment building behind its headquarters to make way for an adjoining four-story addition that will include an auditorium, radio and television studio, and a dedicated legal wing. In all, the foundation’s square footage will quadruple. A $1.5 million fundraising campaign is currently underway to fund much of the project.
