Greenbush Bakery founder Marv Miller died at 82 on Friday, according to the Wisconsin State  Journal, following four years of kidney dialysis. His grandson, Taylor Carlson, took over the bakery’s day-to-day operations eight years ago.

Miller bought the bakery business in 1996 with no prior baking experience and renamed it Greenbush Bakery after the surrounding neighborhood. It became one of the area’s only kosher-certified bakeries.

Previously, Miller served in the Navy, worked for the former Gisholt Machine Co. and Oscar Mayer, and sold insurance and appliances.

The business was forced to leave its shop at 1305 Regent St. in 2019 and moved to the Regent Apartments at 1402 Regent St. They added another shop that same year on the far east side at 5225 High Crossing Blvd.
