The United Soccer League Players Association (USLPA), the union representing the players of USL League One, including Forward Madison FC, and the Communications Workers of America (CWA), a labor union representing hundreds of thousands of working people, have signed a partnership agreement.
According to a joint release, the agreement aims to build solidarity, increase collaboration, and provide collective support. For many years, the labor groups say the player experience in the lower divisions of soccer has been characterized by a wide range of conditions, reflecting a continuing struggle to achieve sustainability in the lower divisions of U.S. soccer. The USLPA will serve as a voice to assist both the USL Championship and USL League One in their efforts to stabilize and grow all divisions.
