“Football is life!” as Dani Rojas of “Ted Lasso” would say.
And Forward Madison FC will help make it a part of others’ lives by donating soccer balls to public schools.
For each of its new kits celebrating the World Cup sold, the soccer team will donate a soccer ball to a local public school in Madison or in the city where the jersey is shipped to.
The donation is a celebration of this summer’s World Cup, which will be hosted by three countries for the first time: the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
“One of my favorite things about a Forward Madison match is the different groups of people coming together to cheer on our team for 90 minutes,” Forward Madison FC retail director Alyssa Bruce said in a statement. “That shared experience with strangers is what makes soccer so special.”
This is not the first time the soccer club has donated to the local or global community.
In April 2022, it sent 100% of its United for Ukraine kit proceeds to UNICEF. The donation totaled over $43,000.
