Former state Rep. Brett Hulsey launched a bid for Wisconsin’s 2026 open gubernatorial race, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.

Hulsey joins a growing field of candidates that includes five Democrats in the state’s first open governor election in 16 years.

Hulsey said his campaign would center on increasing public education funding, adding technical jobs training in schools, cutting carbon emissions and ramping up funding for homelessness services.
