Former IB CFO of the Year winner among 3 Capitol Bank promotions, transitions

Capitol Bank’s Board of Directors announced the next phase of its internal leadership transition plan.

Promotions effective July 1 include:

  • Ken Thompson will transition from CEO to executive chairman of the board;

  • Justin Hart will succeed Ken Thompson as Capitol Bank’s third CEO; and

  • Ami Myrland will be promoted to president and CFO.

Hart has been with Capitol Bank since 2007 and has held leadership positions including senior lender and bank president.

Myrland joined Capitol Bank as CFO in 2019 and has more than 20 years of banking experience. In her role as president, she will retain CFO responsibilities and focus on the areas of retail, finance, marketing, technology, risk management, and human resources.

Myrland was named CFO of the Year by In Business magazine in 2023.
