The owners of Cuco’s Mexican Restaurant on Madison’s east side, which closed two years ago, will soon open Casa Zaragoza at 1824 S. Park St. on the city’s south side, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
The restaurant is set to open by Feb. 3 in a former car dealership next to the St. Vincent de Paul Dig & Save Outlet. The 7,000-square-foot building, owned by brothers Geovani and Otovindel Arteaga, has undergone a substantial renovation and includes a 2,400-square-foot event space.
Casa Zaragoza will offer the same menu as Cuco’s, with parrillada, tacos, burritos, gorditas, tortas, pozole, and more. There will also be a vegan menu. The restaurant has 15 indoor tables and eight on its patio.
Several former Cuco’s staff, including a manager, cook, and other kitchen employees, will return to work in the new business. Casa Zaragoza will be open Monday–Thursday from 11 a.m.–9 p.m., Friday–Saturday from 11– midnight, and Sunday from 11 a.m.–8 p.m.
