Christopher Berge, a restaurateur and former co-owner of Willy Street’s The Weary Traveler Freehouse, is opening a new business in Blue Mounds, the Wisconsin State Journal reports. The Obert-Alvin coffee shop is set to open by June 25 at 2969 Main St.
The new spot will be part coffee shop, part event space, and part vacation rental. It will be located 1.5 blocks off the bike path in Blue Mounds and market largely to mountain bikers, road bikers, and hikers. The coffee shop will serve limited food items and seat roughly 15 inside and 10 on a back porch. There will also be a back room to accommodate larger groups.
Berge plans to apply for a license to sell beer and wine. He is joined in the business by partners Luke Batchlor Clark and Mike Slattery and continues to seek an operational partner.
