Former City of Sun Prairie employee pleads guilty to theft

The former IT director of the City of Sun Prairie has pleaded guilty to embezzling funds from the city. Randall J. Tyler, 52, could get up to 10 years in prison for stealing at least $500,000 by purchasing new computer hardware with city money and then selling the items on eBay at reduced prices, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The thefts occurred between 2006 and 2014. Tyler worked for the city for 25 years.
