In its annual holiday hiring forecast, Challenger, Gray, and Christmas expects 2014 holiday hiring to outpace 2013 thanks to continued employment gains across all industries and increased consumer spending.
The global outplacement consultancy expects significant hiring gains in the retail sector compared to last year, with as many as 800,000 seasonal workers expected to be hired nationwide for the first time since 1999.
UPS recently announced that it plans to add 95,000 seasonal workers this year, nearly doubling its number of hires compared to last year.
