Ford is producing the next generation of its EV pickup truck, and it is looking to Tesla for inspiration, CNBC reported.

The Tesla Cybertruck uses 48-volt electrical architecture, the first company to commercialize it when it brought it to consumers in 2023.

The engine is efficient and saves weight, and is an innovation Ford said it will use in what it calls a universal electric vehicle, beginning with small EV trucks in 2027.

The vehicles are expected to cost about $30,000 and rival Tesla and Chinese manufacturers.
