Ellen Foley, senior vice president of corporate communications at WPS Health Insurance, received the 2015 ATHENA Award at the 18th Annual ATHENA Award Celebration on March 10. Foley was the first female editor of the Wisconsin State Journal and remains active on numerous boards and organizations in Dane County.
Proceeds from the event go to The Business Forum Foundation, which awards scholarships to high school students and adult women returning to college.
Foley was selected from an accomplished group of professionals and business leaders, including Shannon Barry, executive director, Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS); Becky Branton-Greimann, founder, Women Helping Women WINN; Sue Jiang, owner/broker, Tri-River Realty; Andrea Kaminski, executive director, League of Women Voters; Dr. Mary Landry, co-founder, Share the Health; Anita Matcha, owner, Compass Advisors LLC; Renee Moe, executive vice president of resource development and marketing, United Way of Dane County; Stacy Shropshire, owner, Evolution Body Transformation and Shropshire Chiropractic; and Kim Sponem, president/CEO, Summit Credit Union.
