Madison-based FluGen, which is developing a new influenza vaccine, has raised $3.4 million of the $7 million it will need to complete the first phase of its clinical trials. The company, which is about to begin testing its vaccine on ferrets, is hoping to apply to the FDA in 2015 to begin testing the impact of its vaccine and dosing levels on humans. FluGen has raised $12 million since the company was founded in 2007.
