Madison’s blistering rental market is driving three area developers to propose yet another downtown apartment project. Mike Fisher, Karl Madsen, and Joe McCormick are interested in razing six duplexes at 304, 308, 312, 314, and 318 N. Broom Street and 407 W. Gorham St. to make way for an 80- to 85-unit apartment building with two levels of underground parking. The duplexes are currently being used for student rentals. The five-story, multimillion-dollar building would likely include apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom units. A formal proposal could be submitted to the city later this summer.
