Fitchburg mulling large development

Fitchburg’s Plan Commission is considering redeveloping 72 acres along Fitchrona and Lacy roads in an area that could eventually become home to about 700 residents in a mix of single-family homes, condos, apartments, and senior living facilities. If the plan moves forward, the Hammersley Quarry area would need to be rezoned and replatted before improvements could be made.
