The city of Fitchburg broke ground on a new rehabilitation center on Thursday, according to a WKOW report.

UW Health, UnityPoint Health – Meriter and LifePoint Rehabilitation collaborated on building the rehabilitation center.

The 58,000 square-foot facility at 5094 Greenmarket Place has 40 private rooms and is located within a 10-mile radius of 70% of Dane County’s population.

The center will offer comprehensive rehabilitation services and provide intensive nursing, physical, occupational and speech pathology services for patients recovering from conditions such as stroke, neurological disease, brain or spinal cord injury and other debilitating illnesses or injuries.
