Effective July 23, the Madison Fire Department’s administrative offices will temporarily move to the eighth and ninth floors of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum building at 30 W. Mifflin St. on the Capitol Square. The department’s current space, at 325 W. Johnson St., will be replaced by a $60.6 million project from Hovde Properties that will include a 14-story mixed-use structure with new fire department offices in addition to 255 apartments, 11,000 sq. ft. of retail, and 19,200 sq. ft. of office space.
