Fetch Rewards Inc., a Madison startup that has developed an app to streamline and simplify grocery shopping, has received a $500,000 loan from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. The money will be used to help Fetch commercialize its technology and potentially create up to 190 new jobs.
After downloading the Fetch app, customers can use their phones to scan items they want to purchase, eliminating the need to remove them from their carts during checkout.
The Fetch app is currently being tested in 10 stores, and the company wants to partner with about 150 new retail stores this year.
