The Voit family farm on the north side of Milwaukee Street just east of Fair Oaks Avenue and Starkweather Creek will be put up for sale, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.
After 165 years, the family has decided the 65-acre farm located in the town of Blooming Grove will be sold. A community group, Save the Farm, was formed to raise funds to purchase the property and retain the agricultural nature of the farm and put up low-cost, sustainable housing. The property is currently listed at $11.5 million.
