Faith Technologies, which brings together construction, engineering, manufacturing and renewable energy experts, has decided against purchasing campus buildings from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Fox Cities campus.

“After careful review, FTI has determined that the best path forward is not acquiring the campus buildings and continuing to look for opportunities that better align with long-term needs,” a statement said. “However, FTI plans to explore future collaborative opportunities at the Winnebago Fox campus including leasing space and working with organizations focused on innovation and technical training.”

Charlie Fredrickson, executive vice president with FTI, said the campus wasn’t ideal for growth plans, and “as an organization with teams across the country we are focused on finding a location that will best serve our team members today and for years to come, both locally and nationally.”

FTI was considering the buildings for supporting technical education and workforce development.

“We will work to get the Communication Arts Center and field house open to the public in the short term as we embark on a visioning and market assessment to help determine a future for that campus that adds to our tax base, preserves our community assets, and contributes to workforce development and quality of life in our community,” Winnebago County Executive Gordon Hintz said in a statement.

FTI said it will continue its efforts to identify a national hub for workforce development and advanced technology training.
