Jenny Czerkas, co-founder and operations director of Extended Hands Pantry, has been recognized with the Point of Light Award. The national honor celebrates individuals who use their time, talents, and passion to make a difference in the world.
For over 25 years, Extended Hands Pantry, co-founded by Czerkas and her husband, Andy, has specialized in serving low-income families, particularly immigrant and refugee communities, on Madison’s north side. The pantry offers culturally appropriate foods that reflect the diverse backgrounds of its clients. The pantry now serves over 2,500 families each month.
