Expanded dental care for Medicaid patients

An Illinois-based for-profit company has opened its second dental clinic in Madison offering services primarily to people on Medicaid/BadgerCare.

Familia Dental opened at Gammon and Watts Road. Its first Madison clinic opened on East Washington Avenue last fall.

Meanwhile, More Smiles Wisconsin, a nonprofit that offers dental care to patients on Medicaid and without insurance, has been located at an office at the Salvation Army on East Washington Avenue.

It is expected to open a second clinic at the Boys & Girls Club of Dane County’s Allied Family Center in Fitchburg in January, and a third location on the North side could be in the works, as well, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
