Executive Choice Awards 2010

The 850-member IB Executive Register Class of 2010 is entirely responsible for what you are about to read, and their usual discriminating tastes have identified first, second, and third place winners in 33 categories as part of IB’s annual Executive Consumer Choice Awards.

Greater Madison’s top business-to-business preferences represent the best the area business community has to offer in advertising, banking, insurance, and management training, to name a few. Their level of business performance and customer engagement is something for area businesses to strive for, particularly since the Executive Consumer Choice survey featured a fill-in-the-bank style that paints an unbiased picture of area business excellence.

In our constant attempts to refresh the program, four new categories were added this year, and all begin with “Preferred Local”: Cleaning/Building Maintenance Company (Kleenmark); Commercial Landscaping company (Bruce Co.); Office Supply Company (Office Depot); and Local Venue for Business Meetings/Events (Monona Terrace). One category, Preferred Local Hotel for Business Functions (Hilton-Monona Terrace), was changed to Preferred Local Hotel for Out-of-Town Guests.

As always, there are several newcomers mixed with perennial winners. The nine new, first-place winners include: InteriorLOGIC, Lindsay Stone & Briggs, Murphy Desmond, Summit Credit Union, Perkins Restaurant, Potter Lawson, Powderkeg Interactive, Princeton Club, and Stark Company Realtors.

Several companies remained atop their respective categories: In all, 20 of the 29 winners from 2009 repeated, including: American Family Insurance, Core BTS, Dale Carnegie Training, Econoprint, Eno Vino, First Business Bank, Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin, Hausmann-Johnson Insurance, JBM Patrol & Protection, J.H. Findorff & Son, Lerdahl Business Interiors, Madison Club, The QTI Group, Smith & Gesteland, SupraNet, TDS Telecom, U.S. Cellular, and UW-Madison.
