The vacant, former headquarters for Spectrum Brands along Madison’s Beltline may be exactly what the doctor ordered for Exact Sciences.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports that Exact Sciences is considering the location at 601 Rayovac Drive for a second processing lab and customer services offices.

The current, 157,000-square-foot building would remain and an adjacent former research and development building at 630 Forward Drive would eventually be torn down.

The company, which creates cancer-screening tests, is reportedly also looking at a site in Fitchburg. It would like to begin construction in fall.
