After much speculation, Exact Sciences, manufacturer of Cologuard, an at-home screening test for colon cancer, purchased the former Spectrum Brands building at 601 Rayovac Drive (to be renamed 1 Exact Lane) for its new headquarters. Terms were not disclosed.

Exact Sciences had been leasing the four-story building for about 350 customer care employees.

The company also broke ground on a second laboratory at 650 Forward Drive that is expected to open in mid-2019 and eventually add 250 jobs.

When complete, the full campus will have the potential to accommodate more than 1,000 employees, according to a release, and the combined lab operations will allow Exact Sciences to deliver more than 4.5 million Cologuard results per year.
