Gov. Tony Evers has not been able to reach a consensus with Republicans on new statewide regulations after the state Supreme Court threw out his statewide safer-at-home order, and he states his administration won’t pursue any further work to produce an emergency rule through an administrative process in which Republicans have oversight authority, according to a report by the Wisconsin State Journal.
As a result, Wisconsin may see a patchwork of county regulations and municipal restrictions. Additionally, the Department of Health Services has removed itself from the emergency rule-making process by revoking its COVID-19 regulations statement of scope.
