Gov. Tony Evers has signed into law a piece of unanimously passed bipartisan legislation that will begin to overhaul Wisconsin’s outdated unemployment insurance system, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal. Officials blame the system for a backlog of claims caused by the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
