Gov. Tony Evers signed Executive Order #289 on Wednesday, declaring a state of emergency after Wisconsin was hit with severe storms causing power outages, record rainfall and flooding.

Evers signed the order after traveling to Union Center in Juneau County to meet with residents and to see the damage firsthand.

He will continue to tour communities to see the extent of the storm damage.

“After severe storms that swept across the state and more still to come, it is critical that we ensure our communities have access to every available resource to help local folks and families in need and secure essential infrastructure,” Evers said.
