Evers’ budget includes $200 million for small business recovery

In his proposed 202123 budget, Gov. Tony Evers has included $200 million to assist small businesses in recovering from the economic hardships of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to an administration release.

The Badger Bounceback Budget includes aggressive economic development plans to assist small businesses, including more than $29 million for workforce development initiatives and a new $100 million venture capital program to jumpstart innovation.

StartingBlock, a Madison hub for entrepreneurs, and the Wisconsin Technology Council have praised the proposed budget for initiatives directed at supporting new businesses.
