Gov. Tony Evers announced a new program for ethnically diverse microbusinesses that have suffered losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The $2 million grant initiative will provide grants of $2,000 to businesses that have not received SBA Paycheck Protection Program loans or state disaster relief. Businesses must meet qualifications that include being at least 51 percent minority-owned, having no more than five full-time equivalent employees, and operating in the retail, service, or hospitality industries.
The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. will provide funding for the initiative.
