UW Credit Union has announced the recipients of emergency funds from its Fund for Racial Equity, according to a release from the company. The fund’s aim is to improve the financial well-being and financial capability of Black people, indigenous people, and communities of color. Madison recipients of emergency grants totaling nearly $500,000 are:
- 100 Black Men of Madison Inc.;
- African Center for Community Development;
- Centro Hispano Inc.;
- Charles Hamilton Houston Institute;
- FOSTER of Dane Inc.;
- Friends of the UW Odyssey Project Inc.;
- Madison Gospel 5K;
- The Road Home;
- Royal Financial Wellness Advisory Co.;
- Simpson Street Free Press;
- Trained to Grow Inc.;
- The Umbrella Transitions Corp.; and
- YWCA Madison.
