Epic Systems this week is hosting its annual User Group Meeting (UGM) conference at its Verona campus, according to WMTV15. The event provides an economic boost for Greater Madison, drawing over 7,000 attendees and bringing together the health IT organization’s partners from around the globe.
The conference was organized in partnership with Destination Madison and the Dane County Regional Airport, which helped coordinate hotel rooms and transportation for attendees, respectively.
Destination Madison Director of Communications Rob Gard says the Epic crowds are expected to generate roughly $8.2 million in visitor spending on restaurants, retail, hotels, and more this week.
