Epic said nearly half of all new additions to the National Donate Life Registry have come through MyChart in the past year.
The MyChart patient portal directly connects to the registry, so those interested can record whether they would like to donate organs.
“In the year since Donate Life America and Epic connected MyChart to the National Donate Life Registry, more than 250,000 people have used MyChart to sign up as organ donors — making it the nation’s leading organ donor registration pathway,” Epic said in a statement.
April 2026 was the most active month of donation, with over 42,000 new registrations through MyChart.
More than 100,000 people in the United States are waiting for a lifesaving organ transplant. On average, one donor can save up to eight lives.
