The April 5 state election determined more than the presidential primary and state supreme court races in Wisconsin, it marked the day voters in Door County’s Village of Ephraim decided to allow beer and wine sales after 163 years of being dry.
The beer sales referendum passed on a 56% to 44% vote, and wine sales passed 68% to 32%.
Local businesses argued for the measure, claiming they were losing business because of the restriction.
