Endres Foundation gives $256,837 in grants

The Endres Manufacturing Company Foundation signed 31 checks for a total of $256,837 to provide grants to a variety of organizations.

The company’s philanthropic arm received a record 72 grant applications in November, with requests totaling over $1 million.

“Unfortunately, not all the requests can be filled, but the seven foundation trustees had a great discussion and did the best they could, and hope other individuals and foundations can help to fill the gaps, especially during this holiday season when giving, kindness and generosity are focus points,” Diane Ballweg, president of the EMC Foundation, said in a statement.

Next year, the foundation will not take grant applications, but instead give major grants quarterly to agencies.

And in 2027, grant applications will also not be accepted, and gifts will be provided to programs and projects affecting kids, especially in the areas of education, literacy, athletics, health, creative arts and family security.

Grant applications will open again in 2028.

  • Agrace – for grief support-healing together            $5,000

  • Care Net Pregnancy Center – maternity home      $8,000

  • Center for Community Stewardship – air/water guardian      $8,250

  • Chrysalis – mental health and employment          $5,000

  • Classmates Literacy Foundation – teacher training               $3,500

  • Crossroads United Methodist Church – Hispanic ministry    $5,087

  • Family Services – trauma services, giving hope                  $15,000

  • Forward Theater – playwrights                          $2,500

  • Gilda’s Club – family support for health              $5,000

  • Girls on the Run – training camp                        $2,000

  • Goodman Center – START literacy classes    $10,000    

  • Lassid Ministries – sex trafficking trauma        $10,000       

  • Learning Atrium – dyslexia screening/aid      $10,000

  • Little Picassos – creative art for kids                $5,000

  • Madison Youth Choirs – artist in residency      $5,000

  • Morgan’s Caring Connections – family support                    $5,000

  • Music Makers – instruments and lessons        $7,500

  • Nehemiah Center – REDDI re-entry               $10,000

  • The Road Home – for single mothers             $10,000

  • Ronald McDonald House – Augie’s Love Lunches            $10,000

  • Root to Rise – HS tutors for K-12                   $10,000
