Encore Studio for the Performing Arts was awarded a $50,000 capital grant from the PRL Keystone Foundation, according to CEO KelsyAnne Schoenhaar. The studio’s current location will receive an expansion and new theatre space over the next several months to accommodate its growing repertory theatre company and more patrons for productions.
Off the Wall, a series of live improv events from Jan. 10–25, 2025, will be Encore’s last shows in the Mary DuPont Wahlers Theatre on. Off the Wall will feature local guest artists from Monkey Business Institute and Atlas Improv Co., as well as Encore’s artistic staff and repertory company of actors. In addition to the live improv, Encore will show some of its short films.
The improv shows will begin Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at 1480 Martin St. in Madison.
